BatchPanda Usage Guide
BatchPanda is a desktop app for bulk renaming files with a clear preview and one-click undo. No coding required—install it like any other app, choose your folders, and run.

Warnings & Best Practices
Always create a backup copy of important files before running bulk renames. Keep your originals safe until you confirm results.
Practice on test files first so you’re comfortable with actions, previews, and undo before touching critical data.
Use the preview to catch mistakes and only run when you fully understand the changes shown on screen.
When a new release is available, review the release notes in the download page or email notice. Install updates before using BatchPanda on important files so you have the latest fixes and safeguards.
Requirements
macOS with permissions to install apps.
Drag-and-drop install; no developer tools needed.
Install
Download the BatchPanda installer provided with your purchase.
macOS: open the DMG and drag BatchPanda into Applications. If prompted by Gatekeeper, choose “Open” on first launch.
Launch BatchPanda from Applications.
Using BatchPanda
Pick folders/files: add one or more folders. Turn on “Include Nested Files” if you want BatchPanda to scan inside subfolders (folders themselves are never renamed).
Stack actions: click + Add Action to choose Find & Replace (regex optional), Remove Characters, Add Characters, or Number Range Replace. Drag actions up/down to set order; BatchPanda runs them top-to-bottom.
Preview: see before/after names, conflicts, and overwrites. Adjust until it looks right.
Run: execute when the preview looks right. BatchPanda saves a journal so you can undo the last run.
Revert last run: roll back the most recent batch using the stored journal.
Themes: switch Aurora Light, Nebula Dark, or Mint Horizon from the top toolbar anytime.
Safety & persistence
Each run writes a journal in your user data folder so changes can be undone later.
Obvious corrupt files are moved to a
Failed folder before processing.Non-overwriting renames append
duplicate{n} before the extension if a target already exists.Troubleshooting
Conflicts in preview: adjust action order or tweak patterns until no overwrites show.
Regex issues: start with plain find/replace, then enable the regex toggle and test on a few files.
Permissions: ensure you have write access to the target folders.
Undo: use the latest journal entry or the Revert option if an execution went wrong.
